Abstract
During the covid lockdowns most of the universities changed their methods of teaching fo distance form. When universities opened again some of the newly used methods of distant teaching (and learning) were incorporated in the on-site education. This contribution brings experience of such changes discussed in [2] made in teaching the course Languages, Automata and Grammars taught in the third year of bachelor programme Open Informatics, at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague. The problem of the impact of changes on understanding and acquiring competencies (also called skills, see [1]) and in test results will be discussed for a group of approximately 75 students.
