Abstract

GeoGebra (www.geogebra.org) is a powerful mathematics and geometric visualization software with 2D and 3D graphics, animation capability, a spreadsheet, a useful probability calculator and many built in functions. See Yohannes, A., & Chen, H. L. (2021) for a useful overview of its use in education from 2010 to 2020. It is available on many platforms, is well supported by a community of developers and users, can be set up in many languages and it is free.

GeoGebra has a user forum dedicated to presenting GeoGebra worksheets developed by users on specific topics (www.geogebra.org/math). There are also books, Hall & Lingefjärd (2016) and many sites with ‘how to’ manuals devoted to using GeoGebra, Fahlberg-Stojanovska (2011), Christersson (2026). What seems to be missing is something which we will call a GeoGebra Learning Package. This will comprise a short Lab which the student follows to create a GeoGebra worksheet, which will help them to complete a problem sheet. The problem sheet is also part of the package, as is a short set of notes on the topic. There is also an export of the worksheet as a html based applet for the student or teacher to upload. The hope is to create a series of such learning packages which can be used in several ways e.g the usual notes, problem sheet, Lab order but also flipped such as Lab, problem sheet, notes.

Several such Learning Packages will be presented to showcase the variety of material that can be covered.
